1- Driver’s Permit – Top of the checklist is a valid driver’s license, identification that you can drive as well as your experience. We require a Ugandan or East African drivers permits for locals and an International Driver’s License for the foreigners or non East African residents. You will have to send in scanned copies of your driver license and also show it personally before you self drive Uganda.

3- Identification – Another important item on our Uganda car rental checklist is your national ID or passport. This allows to verify your age plus to know if you are truly a citizen of the country you are coming from. All this is done for security purposes and nothing much. Invalid IDs are not welcome so always make sure you have a fully renewed ID before you even think of going online to book a rental car in Uganda.
4- Uganda self drive contract – Last but not least, you will need to sign an agreement with 4×4 Car Hire Kampala, read through the contract before you sign to avoid any future problems.
