The 17 days tour allows you great opportunity to explore Uganda and delight in dreamlife gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park and later connect to Rwanda( the land of a thousand Hills) to experience the best of her adventure activities situated in the different corners of her motherland. Detailed Uganda Rwanda Safari Itinenary

Day 1: Arrive At Entebbe Airport and Transfer To Kampala

As soon as you arrive to the airport, meet and greet with the company representative who takes you through the 15 days tour through Uganda and Rwanda. Later and drive you to booked hotel in Kampala, this takes about 45 minutes. If time allows you can choose to take Kampala city tour on arrival in Kampala. Accommodation Option: At Cassia Lodge / Papyrus Guest House (mid-range) or Forest Cottages (budget)

Day 2: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

After your early morning breakfast, meet with the company driver for a transfer drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park situated in the south western region of Uganda. The park is a famous home to almost half of the remaining mountain gorilla’s population in the world. Although the journey seems to be long, it allows you great opportunity to enjoy the eye catching beauty of the Pearl of Africa landscapes in the rural countryside.

Enjoy you’re a stopover at Igongo cultural center or Agip Motel in Mbarara for lunch and later proceed with drive to Bwindi Forest Park. Upon arrival, check in at your booked lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Trek. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas. Overnight at Mountain Gorilla Lodge or Kisoro Traveler’s Inn.

Optional Batwa Community Tour in Bwindi Forest

If time allows, after your gorilla trekking experience t, you can choose to head out for a walk community walk in which you will interact with the Batwa people who originally lived in the Bwindi forests before it become a protected area to conserve the mountain gorillas. You will be able to learn some history of the Batwa and also do souvenir shopping. Return to the lodge, check out and drive Ruhengeri.

Day 4: Hiking Mt Karisimbi

On this day, wake up early for breakfast, and take a drive to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for briefying about the rules and regulations about Hiking Mt Karisimbi. While here, you are assigned rangers guides to take you through the activity. Later transfer to the starting point to begin mountaineering together with your packed lunch boxes, snacks and enough water to keep you energetic while hiking. Please take note that hiking Mt Karisimbi takes about 2 days, therefore we have to spend an overnight and dinner at the camp on the slopes of the Mountain and this is midway to your climbing.

Day 5: Hike to Summit and slope back from the Mountain

Today wake up early for a cup of coffee, leave the camp and proceed with the hiking to the summit of Volcano Mt Karisimbi. At the top the summit, groove on the rewarding views of white snow, stunning landscapes, the eye catching views of Mt Nyiragongo as well as Nyamuragira volcanoes in DR.Congo. After the wonderful adventure, descend down to Kinigi Ranger post to get your hiking permits and drive back to lodge at Musanze for an overnight and dinner.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer Gisenyi

After your breakfast, you drives you to Volcanoes National Park for briefing and then go golden monkey trekking. The activity is not strenuous as gorilla trekking and it lasts for about two to five hours depending on the location of the golden monkey troop since they like jumping from place to another to search for food. This golden monkey walk will expose you to other attractions in the park, later after the awesome experience transfer to Gisenyi to relax at leisure in Lake Kivu

Accommodation: Overnight at Rubavu Lake Kivu

Day 7: Kayaking on Lake Kivu to explore the Different Islands dotted on the lake

Today wake up for breakfast, meet with your driver guide for a drive at Kivu Lake at the Kayaking point for briefing before you begin this sports adventure. Lake Kivu is one of the best spots for relaxation in Rwanda. The beach coast here is so interesting and provides an awesome spot for relaxing. This kayaking tour allows you to experience the best of Lake Kivu including a visit to the famous coffee island among other islands dotted on the lake. Expect to delight in an exclusive camping overnight and dinner at the shores of Lake Kivu.

Day 8: Continue with the kayaking adventure

On this day delight in a sunset leisure breakfast and head out for another kayaking adventure through the calm and crocodile-free waters of the Lake which are ideal for swimming or sunbathing around the white-sandy beaches. After having enough epic experience of the different islands, return to the lodge for Lunch and undertake a short snap as relax at Lake Kivu.

Day 9: Full day transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park

Today enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and enter through either the western Gisakura entrance or the Eastern Kitabi entrance. Having lunch enroute, you will arrive in the evening. Upon reaching Nyungwe check in at your booked lodge, relax, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day10: Canopy walk and Water falls experience in Nyungwe Forest.

Wake up early and dine for breakfast, later head out at  Uwinka visitor’s center in Nyungwe Forest National park for a small breifying about the canopy walk, you are assigned ranger guides  and set out to do the canopy walk tour. The canopy walk tour is a 2 hours adventure walk rewarding you with breathtaking views across the lush forest. The canopy walkway also gives you access to wildlife that live in the canopies of the forest such as the monkeys and rare birds.

After the incredible epic adventure have lunch plus a short nap. And head out for waterfall experience with in Nyungwe forest that take you through different trails allowing you explore the forest before you access the Ishuno Waterfall. This waterfalls provide you with stunning views and cool breeze of Africa’s fresh Air amidst the chattering birds.

Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11: Full day Transfer from Nyungwe to Kigali

Today delight in your sunrise leisure breakfast, and begin a transfer to Kigali. Enjoy the beautiful scenic drive through the forest and tea plantations on the edges of the Forest, stop in Huya for a hot Lunch and later proceed with the journey to Kigali, arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 12: Explore Mt Kigali

After your early breakfast, get ready with snacks, lunch boxes and head out for a day hike at Mt Kigali. This starts at either Nyamirambo Women’s center or in Biryogo around the green Mosque, it takes you to adventure the most rewarding views of Kigali city as you hike to access the summit. Please take note this is not a strenuous hiking tour like other mountaineering safaris in Rwanda. You get lost in the unique flora and fauna as you hike to top and upon arrival experience the summit beauty and head out to lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 13: Cycling At Mt Kigali, Visit and Experience Kimironko Market and Transfer To Akagera National Park

Wake up for breakfast, get ready with your snacks plus enough drinking water and head out for Mountain biking or cycling tour at Mt Kigali. This takes you through a number of road trails featuring a number of rewarding attractions as you explore Mt Kigali magnificent views. After the unbeatable adventure, return to the lodge for lunch.

Later head out to visit and experience Kimironko Market, While here get chance to meet with the local Vendors, see various vegetables and fruits of all types that are produced and consumed locally, enjoy watching all sorts of African batik prints and crafts that make the market very colourful and vibrant (select a material that you fancy which will be tailored to a shirt or dress of an African design that you fancy). You as well get access to shops for all kinds of handmade gifts and souvenirs. Also feel free to spot and taste many fruits you might not have in your home country before shopping for vegetables, grains and species used for your culinary lessons. Experience the pastries served as desert from the women bakery in kimironko market.

After these lifetime memories, begin a transfer to Akagera National Park and the journey takes you about 2 hours’ drive, on arrival, check in at your booked lodge close to the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Community Cultural Experience at the Refugee Camp and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and head out for a community cultural tour that takes you about 4 fascinating cultural experiences; namely the local food production of beers and bees, the cultural heritage graced with the culture of cattle, art and craft as well as the festivities and delicacy of the local food. Each of these offers you a unique different epic experience. The Humure refuge tour allows you to visit the local cooperatives and gives you a chance to enjoy the beautiful dances and take part in the food preparation. After having the best of the community cultural experience, delight in delicious lunch, have a short nap and head out for afternoon breathtaking boat cruise along Lake Ihema and grab a chance to groove on thousands of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, African buffaloes and other diversity of wildlife species with in the Akagera National Park. Later after having these long lasting memories on Lake Ihema, drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 15: Full day Game Drive and Transfer to Nyagatare

 This day calls for a very early morning breakfast meal because we have to drive to northern section of Akagera national park to spot some of the nocturnal animals as they get to their hide out, you ought to have packed Lunch boxes for you to enjoy it from the bush. The game drive safari allows you to sights lots of mammals or call them herbivores as they rise very early to feed on fresh vegetation in the thrilling savannah grassland like Elephants,lions, Rhinos, giraffes topi, buffaloes and many colorful birds singing sweetly in the trees as you drive via the steep hills of Mutamba. This day we shall spend the rest of our time viewing wildlife and then later on, Transfer to Nyagatare for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Drive To Kampala Or Entebbe International Airport

After your delicious breakfast, join your driver for a drive to Kampala, enjoying lunch enroute at Igongo cultural center or Agip Motel in Mbarara or at the Uganda Equator depending on how you feel. Later proceed with the journey to connect to Kampala, on arrival your driver takes you to your booked hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Airport for a rest, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 17: Departure Flight back to home

On this, enjoy a leisure breakfast and drive to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home or to the next safari destination. This marks the end of our 17 days tour.
